Welcome to USPA’s TICOP support information, made possible in coordination with the TICOP organizing committee and the International Permafrost Association. The USPA is assisting the TICOP organizers and encouraging participation by our USPA membership and US arctic engineers, scientists, and students. Please consider participation in TICOP and taking this opportunity to share your work, learn about many of the current engineering and science permafrost projects taking place, and experience the wonderful people, history and culture in Russia. The Conference venue offers a unique opportunity to visit West Siberia, its tundra regions, and its oil and gas production and facilities. You will find a variety of useful information related to TICOP on our online information, but feel free to contact us if you have additional questions, or steps to ticopneed information to plan your participation and travel to TICOP. USPA TICOP Sponsorship

Please join the USPA and our current sponsors in supporting our TICOP sponsorship activities. Your support will help many of our TICOP activities, including travel assistance to young engineers and researchers, students, and high school teachers. It will also help with the English language publication products, which your organization will certainly find valuable for years.

TICOP Registration Fees

Estimated registration fees will range between $1550 and $2820 depending on level of accommodations. Regular registration will cover roundtrip travel costs by charter flight between Moscow and Salekhard, conference registration fees, and all costs in Salekhard (meals, social events and accommodation), with the cost of the total package depending on the level of accommodation selected. It does not include local Moscow costs, but arrangements are being made for convenient conference hotels in Moscow and transport to the airport. Charter flights to Salekhard will be scheduled over a two-day period depending on travelers' pre-conference meetings in Salekhard. In short, you will only have to pay the flight to Moscow and lodging in Moscow, the rest is taken care of.

Total costs are:
  • 1550 USD with economy accommodation
  • 1950 USD with standard accommodation
  • 2220 USD with standard+ accommodation
  • 2820 USD with business accommodation

IARC Travel Support

The International Arctic Research Center (IARC) is providing partial travel support for students, post-doctoral researchers, faculty, and investigators at U.S. institutions to participate in TICOP. Young investigators, students, and members of under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Application deadline is April 16, 2012. USPA Travel Stipends

The USPA will be announcing additional Travel Stipend program in the next few weeks. Please keep checking this website, or contact us for more information. The Stipend program will focus on young engineers, scientists, university students, and K-12 teachers.

TICOP Travel Information

aktravel Alaska Travel Source is assisting USPA by helping US attendees with travel arrangements to Russia. They have supported the USPA's NICOP activities in the past, and are currently providing valuable TICOP travel support for USPA members and US attendees.
