Dear Permafrost Researcher,
I invite you to join us for the Annual Meeting of the U.S. Permafrost Association during AGU. We will start with a reception with light food and a cash bar from 6:30 to 8 pm, Wednesday 7 December at the ARCUS meeting room, Pacific Room J, 4th Floor of the Marriott Marquis, followed by our annual meeting from 8 to 10 pm.
It will be a great opportunity to meet new and old friends, enjoy some good food, hear the latest on the activities of the USPA, and cast your vote for new members of the executive and board. The USPA has a lot going on with preparing for TICOP, supporting students through our educational funds, and contributing to the international coordination of permafrost-related activities through the International Permafrost Association.
We will be awarding six grants to students and young researchers for travel to AGU. The permafrost community is making a terrific contribution to AGU this year with 75 papers that have permafrost in the title, as well as many more permafrost-related studies. Our membership has grown a bit over the last year to over 100 members and I look forward to seeing many of you at our reception and meeting.
For those that can't make it, we are planning to host the meeting on WebEx.
Sincerely,
Torre Jorgenson
President, USPA |
